I have already shrunk the log but the free space of
14000MB is in the data file which can be seen under
the 'Space Allocated' TAB. Does anyone know a way around
it?Have you use the TRUNCATEONLY option in the DBCC
SHRINKDATABASE and SHRINKFILE.
If it's not working too, I'm sorry to ask but have you
ever backup the database and the transaction log ?
It's mostly important to backup your transaction log if
you want to truncate it, because it will truncate the
inactive portion of the log and leave the active one (it
became inactive portion if you already do the backup).
So the point is, do the backup than you can truncate it,
and after that you can shrink it if you want to.
Please read the books online, it contains a lot
information about it. Hope it helps.. :)
